Got it a while back, have tinkered around, but nothing much. Kept the original OS, upgraded to 1.5gb. A few things I've noticed...

    Pros:
    Small
    Looks nice
    Lightweight
    Really nice screen

    Cons:
Gets fairly warm on left side
Closing lid = Can't get out of hibernate/sleep
Left shift button is annoying small
    Touchpad gets annoying to use

This is just some small things, I have an EEE 1000h as well, playing with that too. So far, the A1 is quick zippy, but still has its lag spikes here and there, and this is with 1.5gb of RAM, but usually its unnoticable. The battery life on the 3 cell is about 2:30-2:50. Anyone else have one and tinkering around with it?

Looks pretty nice; it almost looks like it has had a custom paint job.

How is the build quality? Keyboard?

It's alright, its all plastic but pretty firm and doesn't have much flex. The keyboard is decent, there are some really small keys but not that bad. As mentioned, the left shift button is horrendously designed and small, so I'll hit \ alot.

Yeap, everything works out of the box. It runs on Linux Linpus, customized by Acer.

Where did you buy it and how much was the price? I don't think models with the 6 cell battery are sold in the U.S yet.

    Hi

Bought it from Wanchai Computer Centre in Hong Kong. Paid HK$3,800 (which is about US$486).

BTW the six cell battery just jut out quite a bit and it won't fit into the leather pouch that came with the computer.

When is the 6 cell version coming, with Linux? I see rumors, but methinks that the Windows version will get that, not the Linpus one. [Just out of my usual pessimism.] 2 hour run time seems kinda short for the purpose of this machine; and at $120 the 6 cell battery isn't cheap. Maybe the 3 cell batteries will get cheaper as time goes on?
