After having really good performance from HP laptops, I needed another one just for work and found a really good price on an ACER. As always, I wiped out the harddrive from bloatware and installed my own copy of Vista. It was a tough experience as it couldn't find drivers for several of the devices. After going to the paltry Acer website, I was able to find most of the drivers I needed. The only software that hasn't worked is the Webcam software (cam works, albiet slowly, with Live Messenger.)

I also got a 2 year warranty on it.

That said, how durable have Acer's been lately? I always take good care of my PC's and laptops. I have the Acer Extensa 5620Z-4428.

Hey, trust me...if I have issues, I will milk the extended warranty and the "no-lemon" policy,

My Acer has put up with more than it was meant to and it's still kicking. After years of putting up with sub-par machines, I have finally found a laptop that can keep up with me. I'm now a die-hard Acer fan.
