Hi everyone,
I need your help!
I'm planning on buying the 3820tg from NCIX but two different models show up at different prices. They both seem to have the same features though. What are the differences? Links below:
1) NCIX.com - Buy Acer Aspire AS3820T-7360 Intel Core i3 370M 4GB 500GB 13.3IN Radeon 5650 8HR WIN7 Prem Notebook - LX.PV102.288 In Canada.
2) NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection.
Thanks in advance

Don't even trust the specs listed below. The part number determines what laptop it is. -
Seems like one of the versions got discontinued anyways so I'm going to go ahead with my purchase. Hopefully the memoryexpress pricematch goes through fine. -
Very cool. I'm in the same shoes. Waiting for the NCIX to refund me credits of a previous laptop I RMA'd (the refund should happen later today), and I can snatch the 5820TG from NCIX, PM'd from MemXpress too.

I ordered mine with a price match on the 27th and I checked today and they haven't even made it to the price match. It just says "order received"
I hope they don't run out of stock or my biggest concern, the memexp price goes back up while they process my order... then what? they go to the memexp site and see the regular price cause the sales over and my price match doesn't go through? can I argue it with ncix (if this even happens). I can't help it that they were slow to process an order. the price match WAS good when I ordered it. -
The deals on memxpress run out tomorrow evening, there's still a chance.
Also, call them maybe and ask to manually confirm the PM? -
Great idea jerg. I'll call them first thing tomorrow.

Phew I got the credit refund half an hour ago, and have just placed the order for the 5820TG (pricematched to 799.99 before S&H from MemX prices). Here's to hoping all our orders go through fine.
-
I posted this on the buying option thread too. I confirmed with ncix by phone this afternoon that this model is the exact same one as the previous link. I did not ask why the link and price change I was just relieved that it was and that my order was confirmed for one.

However, since you're in the same boat as me (ordered @ NCIX today, with PM from mem express), we'll probably both have a loooong wait before they accept our PM, since I called em and they're having a horrible pricematch backlog right now. -
yes. my order was on the 27th and the order still hasn't made it to "price verification". we'll all be waiting a little while.
-
I'm even kinda worried they might not accept my PM...I checked the 3820TG memxpress page you guys PM'd from, and there's some in stock here and there; but for my 5820TG PM'd page from memxpress, there's only 2 in stock (probably none physically) in 1 store, and out of stock everywhere else.

I hope NCIX doesn't reject it x_x. -
Yup, I had confirmed the part numbers were the same when I placed my order this morning. But I just wanted to have someone tell me I was not missing something obvious. And their request a call feature made it easy to ask and have them call me with the confirmation.
I am in the US i unfortunately do not qualify for price matching, and to be honest I was down to ordering from ncix or getting a 3820T with the intel only graphics from a US dealer. The exchange rate for a PCHome order would have made it significantly more expensive without even considering the shipping costs, I'm guessing with shipping it would have been over $1000 US.
So I'm hoping that I won't have to wait too long. I have a conference I am attending in January that I would much rather have a sub 4lb laptop with long battery life than my overweight power sucking work provided Dell. -
My pricematch just got accepted
