They are the same laptop. Don't look at anything else, the laptop is determined by its "Part #", which in this case is both LX.PV102.288 , which means that they are 100% the same.

Don't even trust the specs listed below. The part number determines what laptop it is.

    Thanks.

Seems like one of the versions got discontinued anyways so I'm going to go ahead with my purchase. Hopefully the memoryexpress pricematch goes through fine.

Very cool. I'm in the same shoes. Waiting for the NCIX to refund me credits of a previous laptop I RMA'd (the refund should happen later today), and I can snatch the 5820TG from NCIX, PM'd from MemXpress too.

I ordered mine with a price match on the 27th and I checked today and they haven't even made it to the price match. It just says "order received"

I hope they don't run out of stock or my biggest concern, the memexp price goes back up while they process my order... then what? they go to the memexp site and see the regular price cause the sales over and my price match doesn't go through? can I argue it with ncix (if this even happens). I can't help it that they were slow to process an order. the price match WAS good when I ordered it.

It must be because of the Boxing Week sales and 4-day holidays they had that they have a massive backlog of orders to chew through.

The deals on memxpress run out tomorrow evening, there's still a chance.

Also, call them maybe and ask to manually confirm the PM?

Phew I got the credit refund half an hour ago, and have just placed the order for the 5820TG (pricematched to 799.99 before S&H from MemX prices). Here's to hoping all our orders go through fine.

I posted this on the buying option thread too. I confirmed with ncix by phone this afternoon that this model is the exact same one as the previous link. I did not ask why the link and price change I was just relieved that it was and that my order was confirmed for one.

You don't need to confirm on phone, how Acer laptops are determined is purely by their "part number", if the part number is identical, the laptop is identical, no need to worry about the description.

However, since you're in the same boat as me (ordered @ NCIX today, with PM from mem express), we'll probably both have a loooong wait before they accept our PM, since I called em and they're having a horrible pricematch backlog right now.

Yup, I had confirmed the part numbers were the same when I placed my order this morning. But I just wanted to have someone tell me I was not missing something obvious. And their request a call feature made it easy to ask and have them call me with the confirmation.

I am in the US i unfortunately do not qualify for price matching, and to be honest I was down to ordering from ncix or getting a 3820T with the intel only graphics from a US dealer. The exchange rate for a PCHome order would have made it significantly more expensive without even considering the shipping costs, I'm guessing with shipping it would have been over $1000 US.

So I'm hoping that I won't have to wait too long. I have a conference I am attending in January that I would much rather have a sub 4lb laptop with long battery life than my overweight power sucking work provided Dell.
