Curious, noticed this in the HP section ....

The NVIDIA GPU Litigation - Affected Models

Weren't the 5920G laptops with the NVidia 8600M GT cards also affected? Could have sworn I recall the same issue, but they are not noted in the settlement.

Yes, that includes every laptop with 8xxx card in there, sadly 5920G as well.

Strange. My father got no problems with his 5920G with a 8600m GS GPU.

It does not mean it must have issues, but that it has a great chance to be faulty at some time...

Wasn't this issue only occuring on laptops which had the nvidia 8 series gpu's soldered onto the motherboard? The 5920g's gpu can be removed from the mxm slot and upgraded.

However, my 8600m gt did face overheating issues in cod4 (purple triangle lines and raibow sparks) with temps around 94 celcius. But I think this is due to the bad thermal design (and bad thermal paste jobs) of the 5920g. My 8600m gt never broke and i've used it for almost 3 years untill I replaced it with an ati hd4670.

Maybe that's why the Acer's weren't listed in the settlement? I.e., because they weren't soldered on?
