    Hi,
My 5570z will not boot since this morning. I tried the D2D restore, It ran a restore partition program for about 17 minutes, and then put up this error message:
Restore failed - reason 0xd000000d. Click OK to restart the computer.

I once had a Restore cd I ordered from Acer for this laptop but strangely cannot find it now. I tried again the Acer Recovery Media Purchase Program as I did several years ago but
but they say the Recovery media is no longer available for the serial number you entered. It is barely 4 years new!

Would it make sense to see if someone out there to make me a recovery cd from their acer and send it to me for some nominal fee? Or is it difficult to download Vista for free if used with the registration code stuck on the bottom of my laptop?

Will XP run on this laptop easily? I would like XP better than Vista, but where can I get XP O/S now?

    thanks
