Not quite sure what you are getting at. If you have Vista as OS you don't need XP drivers. You need Vista drivers and Vise versa. As far as the battery, Acer is not really know for a good battery life.

so no one here to help me??

welcome to the forum, but seriously dude, screaming (large font) isn't going to get anyone here to help you. You are new here and should show a little respect.
which drivers are you having problems with? -
Hi, new here to.
I have an Aspire 3680 that came installed with Vista. I emailed Acer regarding down grading to XP and got this reply:
----------- Start -------------------------
Hi Tim,
Microsoft may be able to downgrade vista to XP, their contact is 13 20 58.
As for drivers, we only support the Operating System that is provided with the unit ie Vista. Any drivers provided on the website for other operating systems (XP) that we use on other systems are there as a courtesy. We do not use Linux and do not have any drivers for it.
To possibly find drivers the website www.driverguide.com may be a good place to start.
Also we do not have an instruction page for formatting and installing XP as we do not support removing our operating system and installing another under warranty.
Help on this would be found at support.microsoft.com

I was very disappointed by this response. Especially since, when I ran CPU Usage monitor (ctrl+alt+delete, performance) the system ran at 17% - 35% when nothing was running. It choked if I tried to play music through Vista's media player and changed the margins in a 50pg word document at the same time.
If you supply a computer with an operating system that is too resource hungry for the system you have failed your customers and owe them assistance in making the best of it.

I then installed Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) and it worked a dream. Very fast and slick. I installed it as a dual boot system so that I could run either Vista, or Ubuntu. Ended up only using Ubuntu.
I then decided that Vista was a waste of space so formatted my HD partitions that contained Vista and the Back-up Ghost. (I did create a recovery CD first.)
I then installed XP.
This worked OK, but I did not have any of the utilities that came with the acer like power management, audio, internet, video settings etc. But it was running.
I then downloaded all the XP files from this address: (from another computer)
http://global.acer.com/support/download.htm (then I selected Asia Pacific to get to):
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&areaid=12&formid=3394#results
I then went through and installed them all by copying them onto the ACER hard drive and then going into the unzipped folders and clicking on Setup or Install or whatever looked best.
Some worked and some failed.
I had to download the .net framework 1.1 from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en
and then put that on my Acer and run it.
I then had to run the one in:
AS3680_eFrame.zip
before I could run the other drivers for Empowering Technology, so probably best to run this first.
I did get my audio driver, power management, ePerformance, eSettings and a few other things going.
I still have no internet connection.
I still have no graphics card driver and am stuck in 600 x 800
If I go into Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager
my "Other Devices" is all big yellow question marks and not working.
If I click on the eNet Management icon that is part of the acer empowering technology I get an error and it bombs out. Not sure why, because the installation of the eNet driver appears to run fine.
I am hoping that if I get the eNet working, then when my computer searches the net for other drives, it will sort the rest out.
Please, if anyone has got further than this with downgrading to XP, please let me know how you did it.

Welcome to the forum, Tim. You should find everything you need at the Acer Euro site, including epowering utilites. Hope this helps.

I have been running XP successfully for 6 months on my Acer aspire 3680-2682. It was difficult to set up at first, but i tried it a couple times and mow i have it down. I cant tell you what specific drivers you need without the last four digits of your model number (2682 in my case), but i can assure you that the acer site is not well organized and often drivers labled for vista or xp may be for the opposite operating system. As for the Acer Empowering thingys, i dont even use them and my computer is full functional.

i have same problem and my laptop is aspire 3680-2682 so please any body can help me to load drivers for xp.

probably this site will be helpful http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/AcerDrivers/Aspire%205570.pdf?CFID=2234985&CFTOKEN=51012672.

I do suggest going to the euro site as Skibums says.
Download ALL the xp/vista drivers. I found for the 5672 they were missing drivers in the XP section that were found in the vista section. So just get everything and give it a go. -
Hi guyz, I'm also new to this forum and have been experimenting with downgrading my wifes Aspire 3680-2576. It's rather sad that Acer would even sell this laptop with Vista. I was able to Install all drivers, but ran into issues with the T60N874 Ver4.5 Atheros wireless drivers...as soon as I installed the driver and activated the wireless the cpu usage went to 100% if I disabled it it went down to 1-2% I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver using several versions for various sites but always the same result. I ended up going back to vista because of this. Could this be a Vista based bios issue? I was having startup issues with the laptop when first purchased, updated the bios and it fixed the startup issues. But I wonder if the vista bios could affect hardware. I also found that if I didn't install the epower acer crap that if I touched the manual wireless switch on the front of the laptop the laptop would crash and bluescreen...

Try theses drivers:
This is from AcerPanAm site, its listed for a Travelmate 4220 but shows up on the 3680 driver search.
802.11b+g - ( Atheros ) Driver v4.2.2.7
From the Acer Europe site, in the XP section for 3680:
Wireless Lan Driver 802abg Atheros ver 5.3.0.45
Wireless Lan Driver Atheros ver 4.2.2.21_Max
Same site, Vista section:
802.11b+g Atheros wireless lan driver ver 7.1.0.90
Try all these drivers to find the one that will actually work. When I changed the wife's 3680-2682 to XP, all went smooth except for the wlan. I ended up trying all the drivers untill I found the one that worked, even then, it caused the wlan enable switch (on the front of the laptop) to work in reverse! When the lights are off wlan is enabled, when blinking wlan is off. Go figure. I have a broadcom and ended up using the driver for TM4220 fron the PanAm site.
Also try updating the driver (from device manager) instead of installing. -
I got drivers for the acer 3680 from a guy on skype called post break,He told me to use the texas inst. drivers for the wlan
