    Hi all!

I've recently come across an ATi HD 2400 XT in the MXM 2 format from an Apple Computer!

Narrowing down the model number tells me that it is from a 2008 iMac!

I'm going to need a little help trying to get it to work in my 5710g as when I put the card in, it beeps three times with nothing on the screen possible indicating that the VBIOS integrated into the card is incompatible probably because it's from an iMac, or the 5710g cannot detect the card because it does not have the right VBIOS in it to get it to work.

Any help would be much appreciated! I'm sure all it needs is a 2400 XT BIOS integrated into it's SBIOS.

easy fix. don't use it they rarely worked well, and many times there were pin/power incompatibilities as well as EFI/BIOS locks

also if I remember right all of 2008 and some of 2009 iMacs used MXM 1 not MXM 2

I'm comparing my 2400 XT taken from the iMac aside my HD 2300 and it seems identical shapewise. I'm fairly certain it is an MXM 2 card. I wonder why it isn't possible to get it to work? Pic related is the exact card. $(KGrHqJ,!lwFJYom3v6iBSesSycFiQ~~60_35.JPG

not too sure, It has been quite awhile since I dealt with an iMac. all I remember is they were a monumental pain even when it was an Apple card going into another iMac. If I get a little time later I will check in the old cached version of MXM upgrade forums.

    ok an update to add:

NP. Many Apple parts are proprietary when it comes to boards, they like to be different.
