I would really want to hear opinion of this notebook
http://www.laptopshop.co.uk/acer-travelmate-travelmate_5720g_302g16-laptop-3-n2.htm, I want to buy it
for myself and I've read Kiriath thread:
Kiriath have same notebook but not sure if he have AMD or INTEL processor
Thanks in advanceLast edited by a moderator: May 7, 2015 -
To me, it looks more like Kiriath's disappointment in the Acer 5720 is due more to the lack of time spent researching to find the notebook that he/she really needed. With a little time trolling around this forum, anyone would find out about ATI's rebranding/renaming of thier cards.
Tomix, I'm not sure if this laptop is a good fit for you because I don't know what you plan to use it for. A good place to start would be here, Finding the right Notebook. Then a little Q & A to help us know what you wish to do with the notebook. -
Hey Skibums, I answered Q&A and these are the specs for the notebook I would want
to have, now I have done my homework and after long search for the right laptop
I was considering Acer Aspire 5112WLMi, but my friend has same model and he was complaining with overheat and pixel problem, after few thoughts I decided to go
with Intel 2 Core to be with faster processor and more memory. I'm not heavy gamer
and dont demand high-def graphic card but I would like to do video editing and graphic work(Photoshop etc). Now there's new Acer gemstone and maybe I should wait till it comes to europe. go ahead and post the Q&A results in the "What notebook should I Buy?" forum, so you can get answers from a broader spectrum of subscribers. I'm thinking maybe an Asus might be a good fit , but I don't have time to research it right now.

Take a look at the Asus F3SV-A1, it has the specs that you are looking for and is in your price range. My son has a Asus s96j and I have a Acer 5672 similar specs, but his seems to be better built and no where near as hot as mine. Here is some info on the vid card and more here. Should be more than enough for the gaming and video editing.

Thanks Skibums Asus F3SV-A1 looks good with good graphic card.
Unfortunately F3SV cost 1531£ in europe which beyond my price range.
Have not found Asus s96j here in Finland
Do you think Ati radeon X2500 handle video editing and gaming easy?Last edited by a moderator: Feb 2, 2015 -
I really don't know, I believe it's just a rebranded x1700.
Need advice with 5720G
