I have been dealing with a possible hard drive problem and have run a couple of tests with Seagate tools and both tests have passed. I had friend tell me that maybe I need to instll an updated chipset driver, but when I asked him which one the actual driver was so I could update it, he said he didn't see it in Programs so I sent him a screenshot of everything Intel in Programs and Device Mgr. and he still couln't tell me what was needed to update. He said that he thought maybe my machine is running generic drivers. Is it possible? I will send the same screenshots and maybe someone can tell me what I am supposed to update as far as Chipsets go and where are the drivers located to download. I know I'm not asking for much, but my computer going through these intermittent freezes is annoying to say the least.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology v 12.5.0.1066

You can disable startup items that this insulator adds- SATA chipset driver will be updated anyway (and my guess is it won't help you with your problem)

What is the reason you don't think it will help? Do you know of any troubleshooting methods or answers for whaat might be ailing my machine? What do you mean by the SATA chipset driver will be updated anyway? By this install, 12.5.0. 1066? I think I had this Rapid Storage Technology installed before but it ran at startup and I didn't think the chipset came with the install, it does right? I probably should have just disabled the RST at startup. I don't think this needs to run does it? I'm stating things and then asking you to agree, pretty lame sounding on my part, but I find it hard sometimes to get my technology points across properly, so bear with me if you would.Please. Should I install the RST and will it add the chipset with the install? If so disable the startup?

Rapid Storage Technology offers some things you didn't need (you can disable those in startup) and SATA driver.
You might have had it installed but an older RST version with an older driver.
This package offers new driver for what you have on a third thumbnail you have attached.

Try it- we'll see what happens. Also post full set of SMART attributes (i.e. from HD Tune, health tab)
