ok ime here again asking for your help :D

    i have a samsung 50'' plasma 1080i 50hz
and i have plugged in a ps3 displays at 1080i and sky+ HD that also display at 1080i

but when i plug my laptop in 6920g it only displays at 768x and when i increase the screen res (via either nvidia panel or display settings) and just all goes off screen like its zoomed right in

ive also tried my desktop with a DVI port and HDMI and that only displays at 768x what is going on?

i want 1080i mainly for films played from my laptop via hdmi

    any clues for me?

One thing I learned about TV's and HDMI/DVI/VGA/SVIDEO outputs from a computer is that the resolution mostly depends on the specification of each interface on the TV. I'm pretty sure most modern video cards can output 1920x1080 and higher just fine.

For example, one of my cheap Black Friday LCD TV's can only output 1366x768 on HDMI and 800x600 on VGA, etc. There is nothing I can change about it because it is a hardware limitation (cheap interface components).

However, on my newer 65" Sharp Aquos LCD TV, I am able to output 1920x1080 on HDMI.

Also, make sure that "overscan" is on 0 in your graphic settings to avoid black bars from displaying on all sides of the screen.

P.S. Are you 100% sure that the PS3 is displaying 1080i through HDMI on the LCD TV and not a lower resolution?

yes ime 100% because there is a info button for the TV that displays the res and Hertz

on sky+ hd in the settings it shows as 1080i and ps3 setting are 1080i also the 360 is set to 1080i

when i set the laptop to display 1920x1080 it will show but its like its zoomed in and i cannot see the start bar or the sides and top

Chris try changing the video format, e.g. 16:9 etc might help, have it set to auto. Also if you're tv can set what runs via the port, for example with my tv I can select weather or not its a games console or a computer, might help.
