Bought AS5570 from tigerdirect recently. After used for one week I felt Vista sucks so roll back to XP but error happened. I cannot find any software to support wireless lan card. Anyone done install XP instead of Vista on AS5570? How you solve this problem and where can I find drivers? website for all drivers support XP? I will appreciate your help. thanks

I'm not sure but go to the Acer FTP site: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5570

Go into the /driver/ folder. There are three wireless LAN drivers available for download. Now I am not sure if these are for Windows XP, but since there is a /vista/ folder that is separate I would assume that vista drivers are kept on /vista/ and /driver/ has XP drivers.

Only you can answer this question. Basically to find out type devmgmt.msc into the run command on the start menu and hit enter.
Once the device manager comes up come down to network adapters and then double click on it. Doing this will open up a list of network adapters on your computer. You will usually see 2 kinds of adapters in there, a wireless adapter and a Ethernet adapter you want to look at the wireless one.
Now your aspire 5570 has three different options for wireless adapters 1) Intel 2) Broadcom 3)Atheros you have to look to see which one you have. Once you know this then you can choose which one of the three adapter win XP drivers you need from acer's website.

Download all 3 drivers from acer euro website. go device manager and update driver by doing have disk and try each driver and windows will determine the correct driver. I have the same as5570 but it comes with linux os bundled with it, so the first thing i did was to wipe out the whole hard drive and installed windows vista home premium then decided to switch back to xp, but finally decided to reformat it again and i ended up with vista business which i am satisfied now. make sure to install intel inf chipset driver first then followed by acer empowering technology driver and so on.
