Hello. Days ago i bought the new acer aspire g7700. it is not a laptop, but the way to recover must be the same. So all worked fine. the pc is quite silence, but the 150gb Western digital raptor 10000k rpm makes a loud noise. Dont know if that sound was normal. But many days later the pc doesnt boot up. I havent created the acer recovery dvds because this happened 2 days later after getting the computer. I called acer support and they told me to press alt f10 to recover my system to factory. Alt f10 doesnt work. I called again and they told me that the only way is to send them the pc to repair it. I dont want to send the pc because the acer repair center is far away from my hometown, the pc is very heavy (40 kg!!) And it is fragile. I read that the warranty doesnt cover damages on the computer during the transport. So first i want to try to repair the computer. I went to a local repair store and they said that acer systems are very complex and they recommed me to send the pc to acer.
The aspire g7700 have windows vista home premium 64 bits oem. But i own a retail dvd of vista home premium 32 bits already activated on my laptop. I boot from the windows cd, repair, and i opened the command promt. I found a hard drive of 13 gb called pqservice. That must be the hidden recovery partition. I also found all my videogames files in others hard drives (this aspire g 7700 have 3 HD). In the pqservice partition there is a file called acerboot.iso, D2D and many more. Is there a way to recover the system using that partition?? My windows is not bootable. I dont want to install a linux to repair it because Acer will notice that i installed another o/s and they will blame it on me. PLease help me!
