    hi everyone,

first of all i'd like to introduce myself, my name is mtarm1 (mark) im a long time reader first time poster,
im 17 and live in brisbane australia and would like to thank all the other posters that have helped me with my aspire previously(as i havnt posted a thanks, sorry i cant recall names.)

    anway onto my problems

first isnot really a problem just a concern,

i have just upgraded to 4gig ram from the stock 2gig and went into windows experience index to update my score, and to my suprise it went from 4.8 with 2 gig to 4.0 with 4gig, now i do realise that 32bit does limit it to under 4 gig but it should be even if not better than the score with 2gig, shouldnt it?

and second is my bluetooth, and yes it does have bluetooth (it used to work)
dosnt work anymore, ive tryed intstalling the new drivers and re-setting the cable on the mobo but it still cant find any bluetooth devices (the same that had worked before and different devices not used with the laptop, all of which work with other bluetooth devices)

any help on either would be greatly appreiciated

    cheers
    mtarm1

    1. It's time you knew - WEI is one horrible benchmark of your system's performance. For example, overclocking my GPU affected my RAM score somehow.
    2. Do you have Launch Manager installed, and have turned on the Bluetooth switch? Let's rule out the silly stuff first.

Hi, did you fit a matched pair of memory modules of the same speed?

yes i knew that it wasnt a fair rating for the actual performance etc, but it seems weird that it would go down

and yes ive also just reinstalled the newest LM and the switch is on, im not that silly (i know some people are)

and yes they are the exact same (identical) pair of 2gb team elite ram, they are 800mhz and the laptop is only meant to be 667mhz (stupid as the fsb is 800mhz) but it should just be automaticaly clocked down, shouldnt it?

okay, just read they even have the same timmings
only difference is they are 2gb sticks at 800mhz instead of 1gbsticks at 667mhz

cheers for your help, any more ideas?

i went to the first link on that search which came to a thread from here and it says it has to do with speed wich dosnt make sense either as its faster than the other ram and has the same timmings

whats a good program to reliably test my system?

Hi, its not faster though is it because the memory is clocked down to fsb. I'm pretty much certain that your laptop is working as it should be and you are needlessly worrying about numbers which are meaningless to applications aside from games or video editing...

I have a 5920g and the same RAM score as you. WEI sucks hard. Updated my video drivers and my aero score dropped to 2.4 from 5 or something...with no actual performance difference detected...

ok i already knew wei was as a guide for actual performance, but i just thought it was odd it would go down,do you know what i mean. you would expect it to either stay the same or go up. but it went down so i thought maybe something had happened.

and again is there an actual program that i can download to test my system (symilar to wei but actualy reliable)? like the ones they use in the pc mags oh and one thats free obviously :p

    cheers

also another problem while im here is that the TV button (aka dummy button on the left of the keyboard dosnt launch the tv anymore, and there is no option in launch manager to assign any function back to this button.

what shall i do as its much easier when i first turn on my laptop to just hit it and tv watching begins imediatly (so does weight gain and lack of maners and lack of hygene. lol)
