Just bought a "used" Aspire 7735 for my wife - used). She has wanted a laptop for a long time. It is very nice. Everything seems to be working fine. Have an issue that maybe someone can give us advice on how to get around it.
    1. Trying to make a Acer recovery disc (DVD) (window keeps popping up saying we should make a recovery disc before using the laptop) and when I start the process (says it will take 3 DVD's) it starts the burn process but after 3 minutes it stops with an error code of OX205 Burning failed. Have tried a couple different DVD-R's with the same result. Has a TSST corp CDDVD TS-L633B (drive "D")

thanks (an older guy not so good with computers)

The DVD drive could be defective. Try burning a different (non-recovery) DVD.

Did some more investigating and it looks like the laptop's hardrive needs to have a special partition set up for the Acer Erecovery program to work...anyone know how to do that?

You can't do that- it's either there or not. It's a hidden recovery partition
PQSERVICE (it can bee seen from disk-management in control panel).

If someone deleted this partition at some point you won't be able to burn recovery DVDs since there's no source.
