Hi guys new here, looks like a great site for info. I did search but found nothing. I just recently bought the Aspire 7720 on this link.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=7720&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1193234282708
My only complain is the CPU is somewhat slow for my preference, i want to put a 2.0 or 2.2 on it. Now i have done PC stuff but only desktop. So what i would need is the same computer or similar service manual so i can rip it open and change the cpu, that's about it. Thanks.

I also know some models related to it come with a 8600GT, anyone know if i can swap that too, i read the GPU thread, but looks like is possible sometimes. And if it is, anyone know where i can purchase Acer parts in the US. Thanks again guys.

P.S. Is there something to unlock the bios to have all the options open? I could try OC the cpu, cheaper than buying a new one =)

I just went through the process of switching from Vista to XP Pro. You need to upgrade the BIOS to unlock the drive setting. The most current BIOS is 1.33 you can get it off the ACER FTP site in the ENU

Good luck on the hardware upgrades

I have upgraded my 7720 to a T9300 and an 8600M GT. The process is very easy; if you search for "7720" in this forum you will find the needed upgrade info.

    Good luck!

    Hi Guys =)

    A little "off-topic".

Do you owners of 7720 don´t have sound issues??? I mean like stuttering and/or general sluggish.

Thank you very much for your replyes.

    Kind Regards =)

Not on mine. But I didn't use it that much before doing my upgrades; so I don't know if it was sluggish before I added the additional horsepower.
