As far as your second question goes: Acer lappies last a long time. Mine is almost two years old now and shows no signs of wear or has any issues at all.

As far as your first question goes: Acer batteries are OK. Mine was made by Sony and is on it's way out now. But has seen heavy use and abuse.
(Can't shut a lappie down in front of a customer or client whilst busy with a presentation can you to try and save some battery life??)

So used for work purposes (odd gaming too), Acer is a great choice.

Just don't fiddle too much though unless you know what you are doing.....

Many first time computer notebook buyers tend to end up with an Acer (best bang for buck) and then fiddle and **** the notebook up........

And then Acer gets a bad rep once again through no fault of their own...

Seen it so many times it's sad.

    Cheers,
    Theo

The battery life is not standard .

Thats why , on battery power , laptops use many low power schemes .

The CPU can drop down to half speed , many parts can shut off .. example WiFi - Lan - PCMCIA - BT ...

So its up to you , how much saving you will do , so to get the max alive time.

If you need 3 hours and the Laptop at full speed and all systems on, its advisable to get one second battery .

With it, you will have as four hours , no matter what .
