    Yes, you can ;).

Many notebooks have combination 2 GB stick + 1 GB stick.

Memory sticks can be from different manufacturers, different size and different speed. Speed will be set up to work as the slowest one.

But there is still a problem. Motherboard of Aspire 5570 supports up to 2 GB RAM.

the 5570Z has 2GB limit but not the 5570. It will take 2GB per slot, though only show you around 3.3GB usable.

if your 512mb stick is 533mhzand you buy 2gb stick 667mhz, you loose the speed of your 2gb stick, i.e. the whole ram will be at 533mhz

In my search for information, this is the closest I found to what I am looking for; however, before I place my order for additional ram, I need some assistance.

    1. My wireless keeps giving me "limited or no connectivity" messages. I have deduced that it may be an issue with the operating ram. I currently have 2 512MB of DDR2 533 MHz.

    2. The information in my manual says

    System memory
    - Up to 2 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz system memory, upgradeable to 4 GB using two soDIMM memory (dual-channel support)
    - 256/512 MB of DDR2 533 MHz memory, upgradeable to 2 GB using two soDIMM modules (dual-channel support) (for TravelMate 2480)

    Specific information
    OS: MS Windows XP Edition
    Processor : Intel(r) Celeron(r) M CPU 410 @...
    Chipset: Intel(r) 955XM/945GM/PM/GMS/940GML
    Harddrive: HTS421240H9A100.37.26GB

My question is: Can I upgrade to 4 GB of DDR2 667 MHz only (totally bypassing the 533 limitation that I currently have) or am I limited to 2 GB of DDR2 533 MHz for my particular laptop?
