I just bought an Acer Extensa 4420. It came with Vista pre-installed and I spent many hours configuring and installing programs, etc. that I needed. Once I was satisfied I amde a Terabyte image of the Vista partition and stored it safely away. Then I tried to install Ubuntu as dual-boot, and things got fouled up. I've repartitioned the drive, etc. but now the original image I made won't work (gives a winload.exe error). I suspect the image is looking for the bcd in the wrong place due to partitioning.

I have no problem wiping the drive and setting it up from scratch (re-partitioning using PartitionMagic), but in order to use the image I need the original partition data for an Extensa 4420:

    1) How the 120GB drive is partitioned (size, label).

    2) How each partition is formatted.

    3) Any "hidden" or unallocated partitions that may be on the drive. I seem to recall a 10GB (?) partition at the beginning of the drive that did not contain an O/S.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
