My Acer seems to have this issue where the screen is just blank , no back light or anything. I know it isn't the screen itself because I tested it with an external monitor. i checked both RAMs by only having one inserted at a time. When I turn it on now i cant even hear the HD doing anything( I tried a BIOS update in order to fix the Issue......).

I refuse to take it to Geeksquad because they charge $70 just for a diagnostic. I tried to google the issue but all of the info seems VERY dated or irrelevant to my Laptop Model.

Can someone please help my find a way to fix this because i can't afford to just buy a new laptop ATM( at least not a decent one) :(

If currently you still get video output using an external monitor, I suggest the following actions:

Disassemble your machine, CAREFULLY and gently remove the LVDS cable connector from the screen itself and from the motherboard socket, re-connect, and try powering it on again. I suggest you don't reassemble the machine until you make sure it works properly.
If the screen stays blank, have a friend with a multimeter check whether or not the signal passed through the LVDS cable is not interrupted anywhere. It could be the cable became damaged in time.
If the cable is intact, try to power the LCD screen on a different, working machine. If it doesn't work, replace it.
If it does work, have someone (expert friend or electronics specialist) check to make sure that the output slot on the motherboard is still properly glued and doesn't need any soldering, that it delivers signals properly.
If it doesn't soldering may fix it. If it does deliver signals properly, then there may be other more serious problems (such as damaged signal traces, damaged video chip etc.).

Worst case scenario, you'd have to change the motherboard, but I do suggest making sure to check all the above before that comes into question.

    I hope I didn't miss anything :D
