I'm typing this from a TravelMate 8100 I purchased for $2K nearly 4 years ago. That being said it's time for an upgrade but I'm having a hard time letting go. I want something with a good video card (9500M or better), so the Asus line is looking good, but I really, really love my Travelmate. I've seen several of the newer Travelmates and love them, so is there any chance we'll see Acer come out with something in the 14.1" - 15.4" size, with a WXGA+ screen, Penryn processor and a 9500 video card?

Thanks for all your help, also feel free to offer suggestions if I'm looking in the wrong place!

Yep in fact the 8600 and Penryn has become mainstream in the 15.4" laptop category.

I can't stant the Aspire lineup, and I'm not seeing much in the Travelmate series...

jooooeee, I've been looking at the T61, how do you like it, and how does the video card hold up against games?

I LOVE THIS THING it is the most amazing notebook I have ever held. It does well in gaming I am still using the Quadro drivers and I can play BioShock with everything on high fine.
