Okay, let me share my story..

My laptop supports both CD and DVD. My bro was just about to install the Windows 7 OS on my laptop, but it doesn't boot on the DVD. Then he tried using another Windows 7 CD. It worked on the CD, but it installed Tiny7. Then my bro put back the DVD and instead did an upgrade rather than install Windows 7. Now I have something like '2 OS' running on my laptop.

    Now for the questions..

    1. Since I now have Windows 7 Ultimate installed ( or should I say, upgraded ) properly, how do I uninstall Tiny7? Coz I hate that CMD popping up every time I boot.
    2. Some glitches are happening in my PC, such as a pop-up window in the welcome screen saying 'The user name or password is wrong'. Why so?
    3. Here are some pics, tell me how these can be removed.

That happens when I boot-up my PC.

This is when I click one of the icons below, whether it's IE, Windows Explorer, or WMP.
Never mind, I kinda fixed this one. :)

Plus, you could see in the pics there's a folder named 'eXPerience' and 'Enable Quick Launch'. What are these? Is it ok for me to delete these?

    Please help. Thanks.

    Let me summarise

"I have a windows 7 DVD but it doesn't boot"
. . . Ensure the laptop BIOS is set to boot from DVD first and/or put DVD in before boot and press keys as required to boot from DVD.

"My Brother decided to download a hacked version of Windows 7 on a CD and install that"
. . This is not going to get a lot of support on this forum !

"I then tried to get Windows 7 to upgrade from the hacked windows 7"
. . . Booting from the windows 7 DVD is now not required, but windows 7 does not recognise Tiny7 as a legitimate upgradeable installation. So it assumes it is another OS of some sort and installs alongside. . . ish.
    Result : a mess

    Recommendation.

    1) Tell us what system you are running and is it new/in warranty and what OS was it supplied with/ had you been using.
    2) Are you still able to restore it to its previous state? If so then do it.
    3) Familiarise yourself with bios setting procedures, then entering the BIOS by pressing F2 at boot and set the boot order to try the Optical (CD or DVD) drive before the Hard disk Drive
    4) You can now boot from W7 DVD, If you restored a working version of vista then W7 Ultimate will offer an upgrade path. If XP you may want /need to proceed as for a clean install (see elsewhere e.g. How To Clean Install Windows 7 From XP or Vista | Windows 7 News on the web or this forum)
    5) n.b. You won't get a lot of support on forums like this when your problem is having obtained and installed an illegal version of windows

It just won't boot, we even tried booting from the start-up screen ( multiboot selection from Acer screen ).
How was I supposed to know if it was original or not? Besides, the installers weren't ours, we just borrowed 'em.
After installing the said 'Tiny7', he booted the DVD by opening setup.exe that came from the DVD. Then he just chose to upgrade, which eventually worked, but these glitches happen.

    1. I had this laptop for quite long, it came with Windows XP SP 2, iirc.
    2. What?! We spent lots of time installing the darn Windows 7. =P
    3. I'm 15. I'm a techno geek, but deep stuff in the computers such as hardware is not in my profession.
    4. I was at Windows XP, we WERE supposed to do a clean install, but the DVD just won't boot, we don't know why. But it worked fine on my bro's laptop.
    5. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't know if this was original or not. It's not our installer.

It is obviously a modified Windows Install.
Talk to us only when you are able to get a proper Windows Install Disc.
We don't know what "goodies" are contained inside.

I will speculate that the Windows 7 DVD is not an original Microsoft disk, maybe an OEM custom upgrade or a downloaded or pirate copy. You are going to have problems registering/activating it anyway.

We were all 15 once. One advantage of being 15 is that you or your parents can buy a fully legitimate upgrade version of Windows 7 Ultimate from any number of microsoft education outlets (e.g. £57 from software4students.co.uk in the UK) Even if you now need to do a clean install there are several sites to tell you a really simple way to work around that.
