I want to go back to XP but I cant find the drivers on acers website. the only thing they have in the drivers area is a patch for XP. if know the website could you send it to me i REALLY hate vista with a passion. btw it came preloaded if that helps.

If your notebook came preloaded with Vista, I guess you are really out of luck with getting XP only drivers from Acer. The good news is that XP may detect many of your hardware devices on its own. Try it out. In any case, Windows users are going to have to get used to Vista unless another new Microsoft OS comes out within a year or so.

Or if you know/find all the components & peripherals used in it, you may dl the drivers from pages of acer notebooks using the same on xp, it can work. Needs a serious preparation and gathering the good infos before migration... I suggest you find a 2nd hard drive for installing xp, then at any time you can use vista to search for some missing drivers, and eventually keep the 2 systems. :)

Actually you may be in luck...the acer aspire 5610z (5610-2013) has both windows XP drivers and vista drivers available for it. As long as you can get a fresh copy of windows XP to install...

All you have to do is go to the acer euro site http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html Then select your model from there and there you go XP and Vista drivers

Good luck going to XP though, I have heard some users experiencing difficulties getting back to XP from a notebook that came with vista pre-installed

you will need to first update bios, and in bios select IDE prior to installing xp, once xp is installed you will need to insatll AHCI drivers in xp , reboot, change the IDE option back to AHCI in bios, and then you should be fine. One thing you might wanna write down what AHCI component u have from VISTA prior to the downgrade, it's in device manager somewhere, read it on another forum.

    hope this helps you
