    New 1691WLMi - Warranty Question?

    Howdy Folks,

    I just bought CompUSA's last 1691WLMi in the mid-atlantic and had a quick question about the warranty.

    I have not opened it yet and entered in the SN on the side of the box in the Acer site's "Info About Your System" to find out what kind of memory it had. The only info displayed was that it was not yet registered, and on the next line that it had a 1-year warranty with this at the end of the line "End Date: 09/26/06".

    Not sure if this means my warranty runs out in September of this year, whether it has been in service previously (Sept. of last year) or what. I tried Acer's 1-800 line and gave up after 45 minutes.

    Anyone have any ideas? Anyone want to try it with their Acer and let me know what it reads for them?

    What a difference a day makes. I called Acer tech support this morning and had zero wait time. The Acer Rep told me the "End Date" line is actually the ship date and when the laptop is registered this will adjust to the purchase date +1 year.
