Few weeks ago I received my new Acer laptop and it was working very well, up until yesterday.
I came home and turned it on, checked my emails... I went to the fridge took something to eat, came back and my internet was gone. No connection or whatsoever. I tried turing the wireless on and off but it doesn't help, I push the side button and it doesn't matter when I press it if it says wireless allowed or wireless off. I just detects nothing. I thought maybe it was the router so I reinstalled it but even that didn't work. My sisters laptop detects our network so no problem there...
Can anyone help me? This is so weird and frustrating

    Hi psyanalizer,
Im sorry I can't help with your problem, but I'm wondering where you got your 8930 with the 9700 card? I've tried looking all over the net and can't find that model for sale, only the lesser version with the 9600 card. Can you tell me where you got it and how much it was? Thanks!!

Maybe check Empowering Technology. Go start - all programs - Empowering Technology - Empowering Technology - Acer ePower Management and check all the options there.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Theo

oh but I already fixed it :) didn't think this thread still existed :p
Yet thank you for responding, but I found out it to do with some windows update for the atheros driver

very annoying, so anyone having the same problem, check if you had any recent, maybe an instance ago, any windows updates, because I discovered I could restore my system to an earlier date and the wifi was up again :)
basically restoring your system should help :D
