I've got a new gemstone 5920 and I'm wondering what I should be doing to get it up and running? Obviously it's a few months old now, so I'm guessing the drivers that it is shipped with are also out of date. So since I'm not a technical whiz, I'm asking for the opinion of any fellow owners, or anybody that knows about this sort of thing!

Perhaps the most important areas are:

    - Graphics driver? (8600M GT)

    - Anti-virus software? (Should I stick with the Norton trial bundle - is it the most recent version? Are there any better options out there?)

    - What should I be disabling in the startup etc. for cleaner boots? I don't want unnecessary processes running!

    - Are there any Windows Vista tweaks that I should be aware of? This is my first time with Vista and there are some confusing new options - such as Windows Defender!?! I want to make sure that my laptop is secure...

    Thanks guys!

    # Graphic Driver(Modded)
ForceWare 163.75 for Windows Vista 32bit

    # Kaspersky Internet security suite (Version 07)perform better on my 5920G.I'm recommend KIS7 for you.

    # Startup programs! depend on your taste,so read tweak guides first

    # Vista Tweak Guides

Or if you don't want to pay for antivirus software, use Avast
    http://www.avast.com
and ZoneAlarm as free firewall. There will be nice free firewall (Comodo) but up till now there is no stable version for Vista :(

AVG is quite nice too. Just be warned that its virus detection ability isn't as good as others.
