Just got the laptop today. Went to Windows Updates out of the box and boom, it shuts down. A LOT. I managed to get the 64 bit updates in but it keeps shutting down for the rest. System Restore doesn't seem to manner.
The bottom of the laptop is hot to the touch after 2 hours worth of idle usage spent on updating windows....
Specs
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400
4GB (2/2) DDR2 667 SDRAM
320GB hard drive
Blu-ray Disc Drive
9600
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS
The only changes I've made is removing some annoying bloatware, but I didn't expect problems this fast and this early.
I hope this is not a heating issue because I would hesitate to get a replacement. 6930 owners...have you had this problem before. Does it get hot a lot? I hope it doesn't explode if I try to play Left 4 Dead on it.
Help would be appreciated. More details would be gratefully given.

My 6930 doesn't get hot.
I would try to do a clean restore again. -

Thanks for the responses.
It seems to shut down no matter how cool the laptop is.
I've been able to update piecemeal. It shuts down when the download is complete and sometimes shuts down during the reboot and install phase. The only update I haven't been able to install is the Windows .NET 3.5 update.
The bottom of the laptop isn't as hot as it was yesterday. It's been running idle for an hour.
As for the bloatware, I've only had time to delete the random games (10 of 30...) and the games installer that's been nagging me about accepting an internet security certificate. I don't think that's causing the issue.
This is annoying for a new laptop. Is it time for an exchange? -
Hi Guys just got the 6530 the other day (723G32MN - which by the way i cannot find anything about on the net) was wondering, hwy is it running abit slow straight out the box? does it need a fresh format to get rid of the bundled rubbish? and how come it doesnt come with a restore disk? and lastly it is really a high definition screen?
thanks in advance for any help
