I've been looking at the HP Envy 15 and the Lenovo Y560. The 5943G looks very promising.

The last notebook I've had was an Acer Ferrari 4000. It's still alive and kicking after some minor issues. How's Acer's current build quality and service support in the US? Might end up getting another computer from them.

My experience with Acer support has been terrible. Totally subpar compared to Dell small business support (don't have experience with home support).

I just got a Gateway (owned by Acer) and have been pleased with build quality though.

    Wow, I'm speachless.

Easily the best looking laptop design I've seen to date. I wonder if it'll be even more expensive than the Sony VAIO F Series.

The gemstone series laptops were UGLY. The timeline series= only acers that I've liked up until I saw the ethos.

It isn't as loud as the older Aspire Gemstone designs.
Anyway we are still missing the AMD Aspire 4540G --> ???? refresh or they are not going to do any refresh at all?

No news on those models for the North American Retail market yet. At least they haven't appear in my vendor channels yet.

These seem pretty interesting... The Large one would be a nice desktop replacement if it has 2 hard drive bays and 4 ram slots. I was a fan of the ASUS G51 series and was glad to see they went with 4 ram slots but then i realized they had to lose the extra hdd bay for it.
