Hello, I just got my very 1st notebook. It's an elcheapo $328 job from walmart. It's ok, I guess for being cheap... However, it's making weird noises.

When it's idle, the hard drive will make a faint clicky type of sound. It sounds like the drive heads are parking... When it's really idle it will do it every few seconds, its quite annoying.

Now I know that a clicking hard drive usually mean trouble, but then i see threads like this and it appears it might be a common thing for laptop drives to click.

I'm wondering if this is some kind of drive power saving/drop protection thing the drive is doing, or if the drive is just bad. I hate to have to put my trust in a clicky drive.

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.
