There is a new version of BIOS in Acer support site, it's v1.12 and mine is v1.05.
    The release notes state:
    1.Updates Nvidia N12P-GV3 VGA
    2.Updates microcode v00000001A for 206A7
    3.Updates Intel vbios version to2119
4.Updates seamless USB to fix sometime can't boot in to USB 3.0 HDD

I can ignore 1 as I don't have Nvidia dedicated graphics but not sure about 2,3 and 4. Could someone please tell me whether I should update the BIOS while my system is stable or just ignore the lot and carry on using my laptop.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

Looks like you can safely ignore the BIOS.
It solves issue that you apparently don't have and updates microcode which is not important to you at all. Intel VBIOS would be worth looking at only if you had any issues with graphics- since you did not report any that can be ignored too.
All in all nothing interesting for you in this BIOS.
