So I got this new Acer type gemstone laptop. It looks nice and all, full featured, everything u can want...except for the low end graphics.

I tried typing on it and what I bothers me is:

    1. In normal typing position my lower hand is dangerously close to the touch pad, and more often than not (if I'm not paying attention) I brush on the touch pad making all sorts of errors, the mouse moves and clicks on a link while typing for a forum, for example.

    2. I'm a speed typer I can type, well, fast. And in a lot of instances some keys are left behind, especially when I mash the same button consecutively. Like in Tekken (by the end I'm left with just Teken).

Now point #1 aside, is #2 true for your gemstone laptop or is the keyboard on mine defective ?

It's the same in Vista32/64, XP32/64, DOS, Linux, etc...

    Thanks...

For problem number one, you could just simply lock your touchpad with Fn+F7.

aww cwap, i thought this laptop is ideal. now i find this out. It's okay if I type reallllllly slow. But, heck nvm. So is this a hardware thing then ?

Waiting for FW upgrades won't help ?

Thanks for all the replies, fn+f7 really helps a lot.
