I have an Acer 372tmi laptop and I have just bought a new battery for it as the current battery only lasts about 15 minutes wen unplugged. The new battery was 75% full when I originally put it in my laptop.I decided to run the battery down, then give it a good charge up. The proplem is the battery stays on 0% in windows but still says "charging", when the power cable is taken out it turns off instantly but the old battery stays on wen the power is removed? Does any one know what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance people!

Is the "0%" misleading? What I mean is, do you clock in thirty minutes or more with 0% left? That means there is some OS issue going on.

Otherwise sounds like you got a dud battery. Time for returns...

I have this same exact problem with the exact same scenario. My battery lasted about 15 minutes, so got a new one, came at about 75%, ran it down to 0%, and it wont charge even though it says its charging.
Have you ever figured it out yet?

Are we talking about a genuine Acer battery or a third-party one?

Discharging a brand new battery without charging it fully first, is absoloutely retarded. Your battery has its own processor and 'circuit protection unit' (I know it may sound far-fetched)
You will now need to go charge the battery in another laptop, to get it working again (just for this one time).
