Hi guys, just wondering if there's any new realtek drivers for the 6920g, Ive done multiple search's myself and came up with nothing :(

I ask because whilest playing games or just listening to music every so often (well pritty regulary actualy) the sound just becomes verry distorted and unplayable untill I restart the app/game. I have tryed to install the latest official realtek driver 2.06 (not acer's version), I now know this was'nt the smartest of moves on my part as the sound then became verry tinny witch i now know was because the normal realtek driver's dont account for the ''tuba'' in acers.

I have a feeling the answers going to be 'there isnt any' but and least my mind will be put at ease :D

Edit: Ar sorry, i forgot to say that im using the factory instaled driver, if thats any use!

Check http://www.realtek.com.tw for updated drivers, look on right side for "HD audio codec". Latest version is R2.07, dated 2008/10/16 (so really fresh :)

Uninstall old vsersion, reboot and install new one. Beware that site is very slooooow -- it usually take 30 minutes to get package.

thanks mate, but that wont work as it wont recognise the tuba sub-woofer and would therefore revert me back to tinny sound.

though what you said about install after reboot reminds me of yet another question lol :D How the hell do you stop vista from auto installing programs for you straight after start up?

You should be able to set your Windows Update program so that it only notifies you of updates, and doesn't automatically download and install them.

Ar sorry TheSuigi, i dont mean that sort of auto install, I mean the one where letts say you uninstalled your video card driver then rebooted, it would automaticly scan your computer and/or the net for the apropriate driver and then install it with out asking or seemingly without anyway to stop it......its bloody anoying me as it does'nt install the driver I want it to!

sorry for any confusion matey :)

In my case after reboot standard VGA driver is installed and Microsoft compatible soundcard. Just proceed with usuall install.

Also, number one in Realtek's readme:
    Code:
    ---------------------------------------
    Setup Driver at first time:
    ---------------------------------------
Step 1. Before installing the Realtek HD Audio Drivers, Press the
[Cancel] button if Windows detect the Multimedia Audio device.
