Hello, on my new laptop I have 2xgb ddr4 2666 C19 single rank and I'd like to upgrade to something better to squeeze some extra performance.
Can i install a ddr4 3200 kit? I have no ram settings in Bios but 3200 xmpsettings will work?
If I stay at maximum ddr4 2666 I think that switching to Hyperx 2666 Cl15 could give me only a minimum improvement.

Thank you in advace for your help.

Recommended maximum supported speed is 2666MHz but Crucial have advertised 3200 modules as compatible, so you can install at your own risk, if you are not happy you can return them, don't buy the 2666MHz modules from Crucial, the modules will only start working at 2133MHz and increase the speed to 2666MHz whenever the system needs higher speed.

Thank you I'll try an Hyperx Impact 16gb (2x8gb) 3200 kit.

The fastest you CPU supports is 2666Mhz, anything over wont be used, unless you have an unlocked BIOS that allows for memory OC, and even then..

Get the lowest CL dual stick kit that you can afford, but dont expect miracles, the biggest impact is in running dual channel, higher Mhz/ultra low CL will only be noticed in benchmarks and produce 1/2% differences even in those..

Damn it, I'll move on to a 32GB kit that can be useful with Capture One and Photoshop.

    Thank you very much!

Hey man you mentioned you were buying 3200mhz ram but it appears in the end you bought 2666mhz, is that right?
