Ok guys, i'm having a problem with my Acer 8930G Laptop.

To cut a long story short, Acer Arcade Deluxe doesn't output the sound from a Blu-Ray through my television speakers when connected with HDMI...but it outputs Music, DVDs and other videos sound through the television just fine.

Instead, it is just playing the sound from the Laptop's speakers. The video image shows up absolutely fine, but there's just no sound. I've tried numerous methods to get it to work (chaning audio defaults etc), but i'm completely stumped. I don't understand why it only affects Blu-Ray discs??

Can you guys think of anything that may cause this?

Did you change your audio output to hdmi in your sound properties?

right click on the speaker icon on your taskbar , and change the output to hdmi

Yep, otherwise i wouldn't be receiving ANY sound through my television...

All audio and visual settings are correct, it's just that Acer Arcade Deluxe doesn't want to play the sound of Blu-Ray's through my television.

i am having exactly the same problem, i have acer 6935g the laptop is quite stunning in everyway its just the fact after spending too much money on blueray movies and hdmi cable i have come to a conclusion that blueray sound can only come through laptop speaker. I thought this might be a acer arcade bug so i bouht cyberlink power dvd 9 which also ends up doing the same thing.. if u go into my sound output menu of acer arcade deluxe or powerdvd9 there is no option to get sound output from nvidia hdmi, instead there are only two choices either laptop speakers or the spdif.. hell what where is hdmi sound output ?? is there any other decent app which supports hdmi sound output ..

jayuk1 have u sorted this problem out? waiting anxiously

    Hi,

I think it has something to do with copyright on Bluray/HDMI. I recall something along the lines of HDMI as only display fixes it ? If i get a chance ill have a search to see if i can find reference to it.

    HTH,

    Dave.

Hi, have you tried changing the sound output to stereo? It might think you can only output 5.1 to the laptop...

yes i have sorted this problem out just a while back after months of trial and error.. so here is the ready made cake for you :)

1.download latest nvidea driver from website.. donot use any modded drivers
2.upgrade acer arcade to the latest version by clicking update button ( i know it takes ages to update but its worth it in the end)
3.connect hdmi to tv and set audio out to hdmi
4.configure your laptop display to only use the second output via hdmi tv and turn off ur laptop display
    5. set the maximum resolution on ur laptopie. if your tv is full hd set to 720p otherwise 1080p
    6. play the blueray movie in acer arcade ENJOY ;)

if you donot follow any of the steps above it will give tons of errors n nonsense full of crap..

i hope i have helped you sorting this out.. let me know the outcome

    regards
