I new the Acer A5739G did not have a firewire port, but I was unaware it did not have an Express card slot or PCMCIA slot.

I will need to hook up my miniDV camcorder to the notebook to transfer video, but I don't know how I can do it now since I connect my video card via firewire. I don't know if there is something I can purchase to use the available eSATA port?

Is there something I can get (i.e. adapter) so I can transfer my videos?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Can you give me a link to what you are referring to? I couldn't find anything.

Go to ebay then put in the search box (without quotes) "usb to firewire"

Since firewire is faster than USB, I wonder if Ib will have any trouble transfering video this way?

It will be slower but should be able to handle it.
