I currently have an Acer Travelmate 2480-2705. I can no longer hear sound when using the headphones. I have tried to update the Realtek HD Audio Manager; and have visited the Microsoft Download Center looking for whatever might pertain to Realtek and Windows XP SP2. Now I'm at a loss. If someone can give me some direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I have sound from the laptop speakers. It's only when I try to use the headphones that I get nothing.

I've tried serveral different sets of headphones. So I'm positive it isn't that.

that is strange... my best guess would be to uninstall Sound Card Drivers and then install newest ones.
