I bought an Aspire 2010 back in August and have been experiencing some problem with the harddrive. Basically after transportation, something kinda got loose and the HD could not be read until some serious pressing.

Five days ago Windows ran a routine to "fix" something while booting, obviously a loose connection. And it completely screwed the system.ini file. Now the computer doesn't even starts.

I have been trying for 5 days now to get a reponse from Acer to get the notebook fixed in warranty. But nobody answers.

Anybody has any ideas what I should do? I don't want to loose my information.

    Thx

You call support and they don't answer the phone?

As for your drive, buy a cheap 2.5" enclosure and put the drive in there. Then copy needed files to another drive for backup. Better yet, get an application like Norton Ghost or Drive Image SE to make an exact copy of all files.
