My Acer laptop (Travelmate 2410) suddenly become very slow. Its Win-XP-pro was taking about 5 minutes to boot & about 6-8 minutes for shut down. After several defragmentation, position was improved during shutdown but booting time remained same. Then I bought another Dell laptop, and the Acer laptop was not used for another 5-6 months. Yesterday when I first switched on the ACER laptop while on AC power, the laptop did start as observed from the sound of running fans & the flow of hot air from the vent duct, but its LCD screen remained black. After about 15 minutes, I shut down the laptop by pressing the power switch for 10 seconds. Acer's battery became fully charged after about 1-1/2 hrs connection in AC mains as detected from the indicator lamps.

Can any of my forum friends please tell me the reason why the laptop screen remains black after switching the power on, though the machine was running.
Had the LCD screen damaged for not using the laptop for 6 months? The laptop was kept in a leather bag in a moisture free environment during non-use.

    Thanks in advance.
