I have a new Aspire 5630 laptop running Vista with a Core 2 Duo processor. Every ten minutes or so the notebook screen seems to refresh and the screen flashes for a split second. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

My guess, it's a driver problem. I think a clean install of windows vista and re-installing the drivers would 100% fix it!

I'm trying to avoid reformatting the HD since this is a new laptop and I just finished setting it up and installing all of the programs. Also, interestingly it seems to occur when it's running on battery power more than when plugged in.

If it's new and your experiencing problems, then the notebook must be defective. I would save time and return the notebook and get another.

    Hope that helps
