They all have the same cache and fab process etc, so it's purely a clock speed thing. If you can visually pick out the difference between 2.8GHz, 2.93GHz and 3.06GHz, you should register this super-power at your nearest Superhero Recruitment Agency.
If you've got a great price on the T9600, go for it!
For the CPU, I swapped my T6500 for a P8700 with just a dash of ceramique and a splash of scotch. For the GPU... someone better than me should surely be able to help you!
Get a can of compressed air (maybe US$3) and when you're inside your 5739G, you can blow out all of your vents and fans and make sure everything inside is a bit less dusty and a bit more get-rid-of-heat-y. You may also be able to check the Skype options to confirm it's using hardware acceleration.

About skype - that is issue of the last version, I think. For example when I`m launching skype, it uses 50% of my X9100.
Why? I don`t know. If I exit from skype, its process still can be seen in Task Manager and it still eats 50% of cpu.

First of all I’d like to thank you so much propolkin and PenguinJim for your great help and support.
TO propolkin :
1. I won this bid on ebay, T9600 for only 27 buckswhich is a nice catch for me. But now I have my mind on T9900 coz I want good performance. I know best solution right now is X9100 because it can be OC right ? But 45W TDP is a lil bit much and appearantly T9900 could also be OC according to this, http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/405400-overclocking-t9900.html
2. Based on these reviews the M5950 has better performance when it comes to game comparing to 6770M, and obviously none of them go anywhere near M4000. So I’ll continue seaching for a good price for M4000 but if I don’t then it comes down to choosing between 6770M and M5950, clearly 5950 is a better solution.
Do you think buying a used card is a risk ? Because the more you use it the more it will easily lead to artifact even without OC, something I had encountered. And you might never know how “used” a card can be before it gets to you. -

Just a simple square of copper...I think from memory it is 1mm thick. I bought a bag of them from eBay a while back.
grimreaper3320 likes this. -
So you just solder it onto the heat pipe or something ? Could you please be a lil bit more specific ? Couple of pictures would be nice
And what kind of key words should i use to seach them on ebay may i ask ? -
Yes, best option is X9100, because it has unlocked multiplier. Yes, almost every Core 2 Duo CPU can be overclocked using SetFSB utility. But, when using ThrottleStop you have plenty of additional options.
Buying every used part is a risk. As you written - you don`t know how it was used. Was it overclocked or overvolted - only the seller can tell you. But he will not.))

No soldering required. You'd be hard pushed to solder to a heat pipe. It draws the heat away much too quickly. You just put thermal paste on either side. It technically is a copper shim. So try that. Something 1mm thick as it fills the gap from the M4000 to the heatsink. There are a few on eBay just searching for copper mod. I haven't got any pictures but it is simple enough. Paste on the heatsink, then put the shim on to the paste covering the full area of the shim. Put paste on to the graphics card. And screw it all back together. Being careful not to stress the board with over tightening.

Thank you propolkin, you have been most helpful and professional
Now i have to bother you again please.
?
3. I don’t get it, here it says .
4. Have a look at these and tell me what you think
M4000
T9900 (brand new)
X9100 (used)
5. Your M4000 is used rite ? how is it right now ? how long have u been using it ?
6. How is the heat of the combination of your M4000 and X9100 ? I hear that you had to undervolt X9100 because of heat prob. Wouldn't that ruin the purpose of X9100 in the first place ? i mean to be OCed not undervolt ?
7. Where else do you use to find your parts other than ebay, alibaba, newegg, pchub, aliexpress, amazon, zandpart ?
Thank you. -
I think i get it now, basically you just put the copper plate between the heat sink and the chip to transfer heat faster correct ? That is one great idea indeed, thank you. But i wonder, there shouldn't be any gaps in between them in the first place, that will totally ruin the purpose of heat sink right ? -
grimreaper3320, here are answers for you:
1. Here is information abotu your CPU. On the right side you can see PCN/MDDS INFORMATION. These are CPU revisions. SLB43 is the first revision. SLG9F is the last - the best of T9600. To check revision (stepping), you have to ask a seller. As I remember, you have ordered SLB47. About which options are not included in the structure of that revision, you have to search in internet or ask a seller.
2. Benefits of unlocked multiplier are as follows: you can use flexible utilities, such as ThrottleStop and RMClock. These programs are able to change multiplier, voltage, enable some features of CPU, such as deep sleep and others, and RMClock is able to integrate its power profile into windows. In addition, using such programs you don`t have set your clocks every time when booting windows.
3. Maybe the system with M5950 was more powerfull, than system with 6770M. In the same machines, M5950 perfom better results in professional software, in games 6770M is better. But you always are able to flash M5950M with 6770M vBIOS and install 6770M drivers for better results in gaming. Yes, it is better to have ROM chip on the card installed - it is just the metter of simlicity.
4. About M4000 - that is the same card, as I have. BUT, pay attention to the X-bracket on the down-side of the card. This thing has to be removed before the card is installed in the notebook. With this thing you will not be able to screw it to the holders. For insure your self from damaging the card, before buying it ask the seller to remove it. Yes, you can remove it by your self, it is just sticked to the card with just a sticky tape, but there is a high chance to damage some components of the card.
About T9900 - this exact version is good. SLGEE is the last revision of T9900 - it is not so hot, as SLGKH version.
About X9100 - used SLB48 version. Hot and not so stable, as SLGE7. Better choice is T9900, that is listed before.
5. Yes, my M4000 was pulled from dead DELL Precision. It is working great, but it has already been flashed to 7770M bios, it seems. So, it uses AMD drivers for 7770M. Hot, but with good Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and thermal pads on VRAM chips it is very stable and not so hot. I`m using that card for october of 2013.
6. Our motherboard is supplying 1.25V to CPU by the default. It is really lot for 3.06GHz. It is running stable at 1.0875V in 3.06GHz. That means, that I can overvolt it to 1.1V and overclock it to 3.2-3.4GHz. And it will be stable, as it is now. But, I don`t need such perfrormance from this CPU for this moment. In combination with M4000 the whole cooling system is working better, than with my old GT240M. It is because of better power management of the card. Don`t forget that I use AcFanControl. Yes, without that utility and without good Arctic Silver 5 my system would overheat less than 1 minute under 100% load. But, with this combination of equipment, cooling systems and utilities, I have very stable, not so hot and very powerful notebook.
7. I allways buy new parts in ebay. Only once I`ve bought great thermal pads in frozencpu. This site has thermal pads, that you`ll not find in every else shop.
Sorry for my english.Hope, you understand all, that is posted by me. ))))

Different gpus have different heatsink depths, used to have different heatsinks between AMD and NVIDIA cards on other laptops. Just seems to me that the M4000 has less contact than the 6770m I had previously. The copper greatly reduced the temps. And I'm rarely seeing 80 degrees unless the cpu is maxed out as well.

Thus, if you put the copperplate with thermal paste, the heat will be transfered from chip to HS as intended.
I`m not using copper plate, for example. I just used a little more thermal paste, that I put on the VGA chip and than test it under load. If the HS is working good and is not damaged, than testing with FurMark it should heat up to ~75-80 C. It is normal result. In life, I still have not reached such temperatures on the card. Even played Skyrim with ENBSeries or played Crysis 3 with high settings and still have not reached 80C on the VGA.grimreaper3320 likes this. -
To propolkin
You have absolutely no need to worry at all my friend, your English is perfectly fine to me. Actually i love your post so much i liked it 3 timeshahaha
1. I heard of thermal pads but didn't know how to use them. Did you just sticked it onto Vram and just lay it there ? Should the heat sink touch it ? If not then where will the heat be transferred to ?
3. Do you think 1 tube of Artic Silver 5 will be enough for my use ? How big it is anyway ?
I'm going to order T9900 and M4000 above as you suggested, hopefully they will arrive soon. Can't wait to get my aspire upgraded -
To Avora,
Many thanks for the great info
Could you please tell me the size of the plate ? 1mm thick, cm X cm ? -
1. Yes, I just cut thermal pads to the size of VRAM chip and than stick the pad on the chip. Normally - there has to be a contact betwen VRAM - pad - heatsink. If you are thinking of buying thermal pads in addition, you should buy this or this. one of that kit will be enough for graphic card.
2. I`m not bothered with noise of the fan. It is not spinning on 100% when the load is on 100%. If CPu reached 85C, than the program will give a control to BIOS fan tables. Only than my fan will get noisy. But, this is very rare situation.
3. I think yes - I have my for ~1.5 yers.Size of the AS5 (3rd screen).
Good choice. ))) hope you`ll get them soon. ))) If you have additional questions, fill free to ask!grimreaper3320 likes this. -
Have you heard of Noctua NT-H1 ? I saw many say that it's better than AS5. What do you think ? -
They are very similiar. I would prefer to use AS5.I use it just because it has never failed for me and shows good heat transfer results.

Bump. If someone is interested in M4000 for good price, here is the link to NBR market.
And here is a link to ebay. Don`t miss such good offer!. -
Hey guys,
And what do u think about... Quadro series (ex. k1100m, k2100m)?I know it's officialy not gaming series, but in benchmarks it's getting really good results... and in compromise for example with m5950 it has similar price, and often its versions with ROM. And i don't know but i suppouse that rom can be modified for more gaming like in m4000...?
-
In games K2100M is better than M4000, but it is very hot - 55W TDP. K1100M is slower on games than M4000, and is really hot too - 45W TDP. M400 has 32 or 38W TDP, don`t remember. I still would prefer M4000. And in addition, M4000 can be found with lower price, than K1100M and K2100M (like I`ve posted above). But, of course, that is just my opinion.
And I don`t know how to cool the beast like K2100M or M5100, both of them, as I said, have 55W TDP that is really too hot for our cooling system.
About vBIOS modding. There is no difference if the card has ROM chip soldered on PCB or not. As if you would integrate your vBIOS in sBIOS or flash ROM of the card with new BIOS. It only depends from which card new BIOS is downloaded. K1100M, K2100M, M4000 and others are made on the basis of any gaming mobile video cards. For instance, as M4000 is made on the basis of 7770M. You just have to know on which basis your card is built and try to flash it with its BIOS. Theoretically - that should work. -
thanks for fast answear
yep, i think cannot disagree with you, my bad that i didn't read carefully about TDP of those models... 5739g doesn't have to well cooling system. And with this card it would be much energy use, with "t" processor maybe to much consume for standard 90w feeder... hmm, so i should still should look for some cheap firepro

is the card need bios or smt ? or plug and run ?
thnx -
Yep, this is plug-n-play version. No smd-mod or vBIOS integration in sBIOS is needed. Just install and boot. Only one thing - do you trust aliexpress? -
my friend bought lots of thng from there and he suggest me aliexpress to buy ths card.Trust depends on seller u know. So, u mean there is no need for runing it.I am happy to hear thatat last is the card same with your specifics ?
thnx -
Yes, it looks like mine, even cheaper.Don`t forget to remove this X-bracket or ask seller to it for you.
-
if i get this which driver i need to install ? other question is; is the driver need edit ? i mean serial or code edit
thanx -
Hey,
When you get this card share your opinion about transaction and item, pleaseI also would like to take this one too (this price is shocking for me!)
Thx -

Hi ,
I have a problem with my video card GT240 .
It is overheating without playing a game ,just watching youtube and my lap top often shutdown .
I bought arctic silver 5 but without better results .
The fun is always in use because the gpu temperature is over 70C and often over 90C
My cpu temperature is between 40-45 C
Any help ? -
First of all, can you describe the assemble process, when you changed the CPU? Maybe heatsink module was bent. Than which amount of thermal paste have you applied for the GPU? When I had GT240M and AS5, even when it was overclocked it never reached such temperatures.
-
I took off the old cpu ,i put the new ,i cleaned the old thermal paste and i putted new .
If i remember correct, i had the same problem before change the cpu but not every time .
And now i don't have it every time .
Before, the notebook shutted down because although i had the cooler pad open, the temperature of GPU was over 90C
Then i opened the notebook and i have 54-58C for an hour without cooler pad
I cleaned and replaced the thermal on paste on GPU 3 times .
The first time i used a cheap thermal paste and the two other the silver 5 .Every time, i putted more thermal paste. -
-
Just lifted up the heat sink .
But if it has problem ,why the cpu never overheating?
Now i have 5 hours open the notebook ,I saw one movie and one episode of walking dead ,surfing the internet and i have
GPU 55, CPU 39 without cooling pad . -
-
Hi,
I would check also isn't it any software issue (like wiruses also bad drivers - i would recomend to instal newer/older for try - because of drivers i had similar problems...). You could download some linux distribution and instal to USB drive and check if is there problem too. And always remember to srew hardware very tight -
Hi again ,
Finally my problem has resolved .The issue was by software, as YxU said .
The nvstreamsvc.exe was running on background and was using 45% of my T9900 .
I disabled it from task manager and i uninstalled nvidia experience .
Thanks propolkin and YxU for helpingpropolkin likes this. -
Hey guys,
I'd like to share with good news - I've now M4000I bought it on aliexpress for 128$ and it works great, so if someone want to get it with low price - I recommend ( For DELL Precision M4000 AMD 216 0834044 1GB MXM 3.0 DDR5 VGA /video card Chelsea XT 0PR80C PR80C Graphics Card-in Graphics Cards from Electronics on Aliexpress.com)
I bought it 27 Feb, they send it 3 days later, so 12 days of waiting - good timing (but what I know it sometime can grow even to 2 months). X-bracket from backside was easy to remove with hair-dryer. I couldn't only find drivers for 7770m integrated with Windows 8.1 (x64) but I installed drivers dedicated to HP and they also works fine -
)) can you post screenshots with 3dmark06 and GPU-Z?
-
Hey hey!
Finally got my M4000. Really delighted with the service at Aliexpress.
Before I install, could anyone give detailed advice on removing the X-bracket / best place to search for drivers?
Can't wait to get this thing fired uppropolkin likes this. -
Just heat it with a heat-gun and than lift up each corner. Repeat that process until it removes. I additionally used one of the wife`s kitchen knifes. But I don`t recommend to use such things - PCB can be damaged or even some parts on it can be wrecked. Remember to not over-heat the card with a heat-gun.
-
M4000 inside
.
Here's what I did.
1. Uninstalled the old Geforce driver (in safe mode) with DDU 12.4 - Display Driver Uninstaller (Guru3d - download)
2. Opened the 5739G and removed the GT240m
3. Made a stencil of the M4000 minus X-Bracket out of card to help protect components
4. Inserted screws into the X-Bracket screw holes
5. Placed the stencil over the M4000
6. Heated the X-Bracket with a hairdryer
7. Gently pulled at the screws - repeatedly one by one
8. Used a spatula to get under the X-Bracket
9. More gentle pulling of the screws and X-Bracket pulled away
10. Installed M4000 with good grade thermal pads on the GDDR5
11. Switched on the 5739G and installed Catalyst 14.2 beta v1.3 (Guru3d - download)
The Catalyst driver recognised the M4000 as a FirePro - so no overdrive
Any ideas on getting overdrive - or does the M4000 need a BIOS flash to a 7770m? -
-
OverDrive is an option for overclocking Radeon cards in the Catalyst Control Center - but not an option for FirePro it seems.
Perhaps MSI Afterburner could help... anyone had any overclocking success with OverDrive or Afterburner on an M4000 recognised as a FirePro? -
-
Ho Ho Ho!
Perhaps Christmas came early this year- the latest Afterburner Beta gives access to overclocking the M4000 (MSI Afterburner 3.0.0 Beta 18 Guru3D download)
The clock access is locked "out of the box", but can be unlocked via the Settings. On the General tab, under AMD Compatibility Properties, tick the Extend official overclocking limits check box.
Bobs your uncle - huge clock increases.
Took my core clock right up to 870 just messing around... but def need to look into better card cooling before going to town on this.
Please let me know if this works for you. Oh yes, the 5739G is very much alive and kicking .propolkin likes this.
