Ok, so I was on my laptop all morning yesterday, and I went to play a game, so I have a different program called "RMClock" to turn my clock speed 2Ghz, so it did so. My laptop than locked up flashed a blue screen and restarted.
I was told it could be that program and to turn it off.
But I was confused, because I was using that program for weeks now.
So I was using my webcam, I unpluged it, and it flashed blue screen and restarted. I booted back up, pluged webcam in again, and unpluged it, and it happen again.
So, I then didn't do much with my laptop, and I went home from a party last night, and went on it for a bit, at 1:35am I went to shut it off, when I did, it says "Windows is shutting down", and it flashed and restarted. I then pressed shut down windows again, and it did so.
I am almost sure it can't be my webcam, or that program, because I've used both for weeks, and this just started yesterday.
Please help me!
I hope its not my notebook, and just maybe a driver, or patch or something.
-
some people might call you stupid for using that program however luckily for you this can be fixed...
download the patch for that program on the webpage and needed drivers and the problem should go away -
So this is a problem with that program?
For sure?
Also, when I booted back up this morning, I got 4 "Windows recovered from a serious crash" 4 times (Number of times I got the blue screen) -
I think this program messed up the settings for your clock speed/or fan and this is a result of overheating.I had a Pentium 1,the fan started to malfunction and stopping. As a result BSOD every 45 mins, more or less.Depending how much exciting thing were going on the windows.
-
but my fan is working now (Program is on)
and, the last time it happen yesterday, that program was turned off.
And my webcam was also disconnected...
I'm confused, and scared. -
set your windows to 'not automatic reboot' on blue screen
It gives you error codes and what thing is going wrong. Then google it or something. Usually its a driver problem which can be fixed by going into safe mode. But you need to find out what problem it is first. -
Ok, So, my laptop isn't screwed?
I just need to fix or patch something? -
you should boot into safe mode and use it for a long time
see if that gives you a problem
if it doesn't, then that means the problem is a software problem that can be fixed with a driver update or reformat etc...
if it still crashes when booting in safe mode, then you might have a bios problem or even hardware problem. -
Well, I booted normal, and have been using it for a few hours now...
so, I don't know...
I really don't think its much of anything to worry about, if anything happens again I will post about it, and the error message I got, and we can try to work it out from there. (I turned off reboot on error). -
Yeah, if it reboots and gives you the error make a note of the file (assuming it lists one) unfortunately windows BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) can happen for a variety of reasons, it could be a hardware problem, or a software problem or...
So many choices without seeing the message it's almost impossible to say. -
Not sure if this helps you at all.
But I uninstalled a program called Ares (P2P)
But either way, I'm not getting it anymore, I don't think anyway. So can that mean anything? -
Yes, P2P can be bad, can include spyware or cause conflicts...
But it may be nothing, it may just be luck, just keep it setup so if it BSOD's again you can note the offending file/program and then list it here to get advice. -
Will do, Thanks to everybody for the help!
Og god no... Please help
