Hi. This Acer can be picked up on ebay (new, with warranty) for USD$650. Assume the specs are appropriate for my needs (some gaming, some photoshop, extensive Word, Excel, Powerpoint, web browsing, multimedia). Is this a good price for the specs? :
* AMD Phenom II Quad-Core N970 2.2GHz
* Memory Size 4GB DDR3
* Hard Drive: 500 GB
* Graphics Card: DEDICATED AMD Radeon HD 6650M
* Video Memory: 1 GB DDR3 VRAM
* Screen: 15.6" Acer CineCrystal Technology; Screen Resolution: 1366 x 768
* WLAN: 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN
* Optical Drive: DVD Super Multi
* Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
* Color: Black (textured)
General opinions and alternatives welcomed. Thanks!

Specs look OK but it would be a lot easier if you provided model number.

Ehh, i dont think it has MXM slot. NO MXM=not good for me. I wanna be able to upgrade to 7000M series next year.

Since when do most budget ($650) laptops allow you to upgrade to a new graphics card? I'm curious now. A lot of the graphic cards are soldered into the motherboard itself.

mine was $700 2 years ago, came with gt 130m mxm A. Plus Newegg sells Acer Laptops with core i5 and 6650M for 650ish price. So look there also if you change ur mind.

Back then Acer used MXM modules quite often, now it doesn't use them at all.

downloads: the model number is Acer Aspire AS5552G-7641
How common are MXM slots these days? If Acer stopped using them, who does now? -
Asus, Sager, and a few others I can't recall use MXM slots, although Asus uses a reversed connector so you have to use THEIR MXM cards.

thanks for the responses

Actually, current Asuses contain a fully standard MXM 3.0 slot. Only 2.x slots were reversed.
Also, Dell now uses MXM 3.0 in some machines.
Opinions on this Acer please
