I just purchased an Aspire 5100 and the Orbicam video is upside-down when the camera is facing me. When facing away, the video is right-side up. I've tried deleting the camera and reinstalling using downloaded Bison drivers from Acer's website. Any ideas? TIA

I don't have this camera, but the bison camera utility usually gives you the option of flipping the image. I will check and see if I can find the exact option.

    Try this...

Option ==> Video Capture Filter ==> Rotation

Aside from what danny2001 says (which is the most likely cause, although its unlikely straight out of the box) there's a possibility that the camera has been fitted to the unit incorrectly or that the microswitch inside the camera has malfunctioned and isn't actually flipping the image when the camera is rotated.

my friends orbicam was rotated in the wrong direction and the image wouldn't flip.
The orbicam does not turn 360` and you can't point it up so if you have rotated it up wards its knackered :(

    Danny -

The Bison software does not have an option for rotating the image. It's pretty basic software. There is only a camera icon to take a picture, a trash can to delete the picture and a drop-down to toggle resolution between 640x480 and 320x240. Acer support was of no use - they told me to do a full system restore, which I did, but have the same result. My guess is it's a hardware issue.
