    Ordered my Acer TM4501!

    All right, I've taken the plunge and there's no turning back now. I'll write a review when I get it both for the computer and for the folks I ordered it from. I've also been giving some serious consideration to picking up a Waterfield Designs Sleevecase for it, and if I do that, you'll hear from me as well.

    This is the most expensive item I have ever put on my credit card. It's also the most expensive item I have ever ordered off the internet. So I'm filled with a weird mix of excitement and apprehension as I wait to see if my buying experience will be a good one or a bad one.

    I've heard good things about the 4501 so far, and so I'm looking forward to getting in on that good vibe. Hence, the new avatar.

    Good luck with your new computer. I too ordered one yesterday and can't wait for its arrival. I was a little down to see that the price dropped $12.00 today, but thems the breaks they say...

    Okay, weirdness afoot. I ordered from www.directdial.com (the canadian site), and waited. And waited. A week later it still hasn't showed up on my credit card, and the order tracking on the site hasn't updated since I placed the order. So I call. Apparently they cancelled the order "due to fraud on the credit card." Now, I'm not sure what the heck that was about, although I did have someone steal my credit card number several years ago and make some charges with it that I had to sign off against having made. So maybe I have a black mark on my credit rating or something.

    Anyway, I call the company, and they pick up almost immediately. I ask about what's going on and the guy tells me about the order being cancelled. He doesn't know why it was cancelled, so he forwards me to the girl who actually did the cancelling, who also picked up immediately. She can't remember what it was about, so she just reinstates my order and upgrades my shipping to "overnight courier". So, I seem to have run into an administrative glitch, but I really can't complain about their customer service!
