Hi,
I have an AS8930G. I've had it for about 2 years now, I love it, it's been a great, sturdy laptop.
Unfortunately it seems my laptop isn't really taking full advantage of all the hardware, mainly the memory. I bought some memory that runs up to 1333MHz but it seems to be capped at 667MHz and I could really use the extra speed. It's running at 532MHz right now.
So I'd like to overclock it. However, I'm rather new to overclocking and I'm wondering if anyone else who is familiar with this model could explain the steps to me.
I've done some reading and I've found articles that talk about overclocking memory but they're all for Desktops with the fancy bios that actually lets you do stuff.
So if anyone out there knows how to overclock the memory on an AS8930G I'd greatly appreciate any help.
PS
Are there any custom bios you can put on the AS8930G? That would be awesome.

First you won't tell the difference between the 2 speeds because it is minimal ...
Second if the processor FSB & motherboard limitations will control the memory frequency i.e. if the processor FSB is 667 the memory will be capped at this frequency ... also sometimes the motherboard itself maybe causing the limitation -
Okay, if it is the MB, is there any way I can overcome that limitation or overclock it?

My CPU is an E8435 3.06GHz with 1066FSB Revision C0 multiplier 11.6 and my 4GB of DDR3 memory runs at a max of 1333MHz but it's being capped at 667MHz.

and the mobo is ?

Oh right, the mb, forgot about that.

DRAM Frequency (Bus Clock) 532.0 MHz => 1066 MT/s Data Rate (to be more accurate 1064 like the processor)
you multiply the frequency*2 due to the double data Rate nature of the DDR memory devices ... mine run also with the same frequency so don't worry you are maxing them out already -
yes your ram is running as fast as it can with the fsb speed of 1066mhz
set by the cpu you have
as said your ram is running right at 532mhz(1064mhz) -
Oh, okay. But is there anyway I can overclock it? The FSB that is?
