    Hello

I bought the 8920G-934G50Bn laptop and its great!
But i want to squeeze a little bit more performance from it. I did install Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate on it. I should probably have installed Windows XP 64 bit but that does not matter now. I got my extra 1GB RAM (4GB), though i am wasting aprox 1,35GB in Vista. :p

What i want to know is
    1. Can overcklock my CPU and GPU speed ? If so How do i do it without damaging them ?

    2. Is it possible to install or upgrade a performance unit ? etc, more RAM, greater CPU/GPU ? or anything else ?

    3. Does a 4GB ReadyBoost card make any differens in my performance? if so, in what aspects ?

    4. What is the CPU socket of theese laptops ? Is it the Intel Mobile 479 socket ?

I have The T9300 CPU with 2,5GHz and 4GB RAM (667) and the 9500GS GPU.

    All help appreciated!

You can, but i wouldnt. It does damage them though, because it reduces the life-span and makes it run hotter. You can most likely nott upgrade your GPU. only 3% of laptops can be. You can upgrade your cpu probably, it isnt an easy process though, but it wont help gaming and i just realizd that you stated your CPU, and it is one of the best DualCore CPU there is available.

If you still do want to OC see this thread:

Update your video card drivers if you havn't already. This will show a big improvement in games. There's not a whole lot else aside from oc'ing the gpu.

Why is ut difficult to upgrade the CPU ? Isnt it just "open and exchange" ?
Will this CPU fit my laptop ?

I installed the ones on Acer's support page. Is there newer drivers for the nVidia M9500GS out there ?

Check out the site http://www.laptopvideo2go.com....try out driver version 169.09..!!
If the white circle encloses the CPU, then you might be able to remove it without taking the laptop apart....not sure..

I think that CPU will fit, but it wont give you that much of a noticable speed increase, because its a little amount of GHz. difference... If you are looking to proform better in games, a better CPU wont help.

I am not very sure if that CPU would work in your laptop, it is basically for the new Montevina chipset....
but if you are kinda feeling a bit adventurous and ready to burn some money, go ahead with it and let us know if it works or not.. :D and I would probably buy the same notebook and do a similar upgrade.. :D

I think the best you could go - is the X9000 (non-es)....Heat issues and stuff are a myth, I had one installed in my D630 and it worked flawlessly..!! But the BIOS could be an issue....

I cant imagine why the new T9600 CPU would not fit my laptop. I am deffinetly going to try it when it is released.

Where have you read the information about T9600 being for the Montevina chipset ?

Edit, i cant find my GPU in the "supported list" for the 169.09 driver.

The CPU MAY fit, but it wont give you the Befefits of Montevina if it does fit. It will give you the 2,8GHz speed though, IF it fits.
