    Hi

I have an Aspire 8930G which I am very happy with apart from a few minor issues. Music playback can be sometimes jerky, either iTunes or Media Player.

Was also thinking of overclocking it, what utilities and methods have other people used? I'd be really interested.

Iam kinda afraid trying all those pll's, because my laptop is acting strange when i choose the wrong pll

    Read post #2.

Open the notebook, find the PLL, find the datasheet for the PLL.

You don't have TME enabled, so you should not need a pin mod.

Try changing byte 21 from 00 to 02.
    Then try overclocking again.

If the FSB wont change, you will have to troubleshoot it more.
For that you will find the datasheet useful:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...pll-pinmod-overclocking-methods-examples.html

Also this will help you understand how setfsb programs the PLL:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...generator-ics9lprs387bklf-12.html#post6188065

If you still can't get it to work, try the FSLx pinmod.

03 is good too. As long as it's not 00.

    I don't know why it doesn't work.

Searched the internet high and low. I even tried look for some hints from the older 8920g, but nada. Seems to me SetFSB don't support it. Is it possible pll has to be ICS9LPRS365 without the BGLF ?

For some reason I can't even open setFSB, it keeps reminding me that it's a shareware version, even though I downloaded the freeware....

Did you guys all purchase the setFSB already? I'd like to have a try too but it first says "chipset error", then tells me to pay?

Try this link its freeware off the site. This is the one I been trying to use.
    http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/download/ver22/setfsb_2_2_134_98.zip

So anyway sometimes when i try to use SetFSB and press Set FSB most of the inputs freeze (power button works, but only to turn it off) and screen freezes, but lets say i had music or Skype running i can still hear and talk. Anyone know whats going on, or maybe how to fix this?
