Dealing with a 7000 series Travelmate here that overheats when on MAINS (AC) power.

When you plug out the MAINS power and the affected areas (base of laptop near power pin connector and pin itself) cool down again.

Anyone have any ideas as to the root of the problem?

Ok can you purchase an adapter with a higher power rating?
Read higher (Ampere) since voltage should be constant.
