I went to this site, a more adult version of YouTube (not porno), to check out this XGames video apparently in the same format as YouTube vids. wen i clicked it to play, it said it required "ActiveX" which i thot was like DirectX so I downloaded it--and suddenly it automatically installed this trial SpyWare software "VirsuProtectPro" and at the same time about a dozen viruses including 3 Trojans in which my pre-installed NOD32 virus-protecting software is practically nonexistent (as with more than half of my other programs that are supposed to be shown in the lower righthand corner of the toolbar near the clock). but it says that I can only remove these viruses by BUYING the software online...

however, the biggest problem is that from now on that I start up the laptop, a small window saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" pops up with two options [i've tried both to no avail] including 'check online for a solution and then restart the program' or just 'restart the program'. there's also the X at the upper righthand corner to remove the box--but when I either press the X, or try either of the options, it gives me a maximum of 3 seconds to activate anything on the desktop of start menu before the window returns, and thus freezes/incapacitates my control over the desktop.!!

ALL I WANT TO DO RIGHT NOW IS RECOVER 3 WORD FILES

that is my primary concern; but with 3 seconds per time it's not enough to extract the files onto my USB port; it was only enough time to permanently delete the programs [[or at least the shortcuts via the desktop]] of the VirusProtectPro software AND even the Inernet Explorer, but the window continues to appear.

I honestly dont understand how this ActiveX download has suddenly eradicated my laptop's accessibility in the spanse of a couple minutes following that initial click . . .

my model is the Acer Aspire 5100; i've had to for 2 months now. I have [or had] a NOD 32 anti-virus software installed and until that click everything has been fine.
I desire help more than anything in the world right now but I just as honestly dont know how anyone could help me recover those files..it seems impossible with the granted 3 seconds.
    but PLEASE, nonetheless, somebody help.
i'm not sure if their warranty or their customer service has the abilities to recover data.

lastly, and sorry for this being so long, on the 'windows explorer has stopped working' window, there is also a 'view problem details' arrow that lists the numerous specifications of the issue
it is very long but if this would actually help someone then I will post it

    thank you

you could buy an external hdd case for the hard drive, and plug it to another computer. that's one suggestion.
