I pre-ordered my Acer Aspire AOA150-1447 (blue) from Buy.com on August 31, 2008. I finally received my package, today, Oct 10th. And guess what they sent me? A White one! Of course, they don't have the blue in stock, and there's nothing they could do except say, "well, return it, we'll give you your money back".

When I asked for some sort of compensation, they sent me a $20 gift certificate, for BUY.com!! (or are supposed to). Let's see... I ordered the blue with a 5% coupon and free shipping, totalling $384.

In order to get it from someplace that has it in stock at this point, it would cost me about $430 + shipping. Does that $20 gift cert cover it? NO.

A co-worker has shown interest in the white one and I may be selling it to her for the $384 I paid for it. Now I'm on the hunt, yet again, for a blue, In Stock for the MSRP. Still, $399 + shipping if I have to pay shipping will still be more than the $384 even with a $20 GC (I have to buy something from them again to get that $20!)

So, if you care what color you receive... Don't Buy from Buy.com!

To those who say... what does the color matter? The white has a white keyboard. That's just going to get Nasty over time...

You would think that they would at least email you to let you know about availability. I have never done business with them. I usually stick to newegg, xoxide, and a couple of others. Thanks for letting us know. You could wear gloves. . .

They did send an email when stock became available but I think someone forgot they had a ton of pre-orders... it was only up for a few minute before they sold out again. They shipped that same day.

I think someone just figured.. Hmm... we told her we were shipping today... we have to ship Something, so ship the white one... she won't care.

    Grr.

Unfortunately this is what I dislike about shopping online ... they tend to replace your item with something like it, refund your money or something.

Most websites however have a policy listed or terms for the consumer that apply to their site.

Some websites even are late to change their instock to out of stock for a listing after you already paid for the ****ed thing lolz.

I am glad I canceled my order with them and went with CDW. It was worth the extra money.
